D a y s a t T a i p e i . We were so excited about the whole idea of going TW for our wedding photoshoot. Were in fact more looking forward to the shopping and delicacies! Nevertheless, the whole trip can be rather hard to describe with only words till i can find a word as simple yet with profound meanings as FUN and HAPPY (: 楽しさと幸せ.. DAY 1
The wedding package included SIA tickets for us and luckily not any budget airlines but needless to say, the airport tax is crazy and fyi it`s not included! But i`m hooked to SIA after this trip cos i really had a comfortable and happy flight except for that i cried so much watching HACHIKO the movie on plane. Cry till my lashes drop can! My tears flowed like as if i`m forced to go TW work as 檳榔妹 and can never return to sgp for good.
西門丁, 13degree celcius. Thou it was just 4 months ago when i came TW with mika, nothing much changed but i seriously can`t wait to get my hands on the 小吃! And im goddamn happy that it`s spring, which means nice and chilly weather, discounted winter clothes and LOTS of spring fashion! ショッピングはいつも私を幸せに!
CALL ME A GLUTTON! (: Went back hotel, King International 金國際飯店 to meet up with our photographer Jerry to discuss about the itinery the next day. Turned in early to look fresh in the wedding photos! *ヒント* If u are going to find a good accomodation, PLEASE, i strongly oppose the idea of bunking in King International hotel. The hotel staffs are friendly and location is wise BUT the room is freaking small, bad facilities with no iron, the watertap at the basin is fucking funny ( icy cold water comes out from left tap, steaming hot water from right tap~ u got it, i seriously dunno how to mix them together, either i`ll scald myself or i`ve to bear with the literally icy water), there was a blackout in the toilet on one great morning as well. I will really suggest u to find other better hotels with e same cost. DAY 2 Woke up really early and we were hyperventilating-ly excited and all tensed up about the photoshoot! Couldn`t show the pictures yet but i wanna share with all of u the procedures. That day was extremely cold and the weather can go all e way below 12degrees at places like FISHERMAN WHARF 漁人碼頭. I was wearing rather bare, often couldn`t even smile cos i was trembling so badly. But i wanna thank e weather as well as even heaven was on our side. Saw weather forecast and thot was gonna rain, however the sky was clear when i was in my evening gown, the sun came in when i was in a cute semi formal dress which enhances the liveliness of the whole picture, the strong gust of wind at fishermans came as i hoped so as the chiffons of my white gown are flying in the breeze. I guessed we reaped what we sowed. Everything comes with hard work and i really wanna thank Jerry (photographer), his wife cum assistant, make up artist. Can really tell that they put in alot of effort in everything! Jerry was right, photos may fade but the fun we had will be stored in our memories forever. I can still remember everything so vividly. 真的好感謝你們! A BIG SANKYU!
(:
Brought bb to Miramar for the ferriswheel thou i remember when i last took it 3 years ago, i was pretty dreadful about it. Height is always one big obstacle to overcome with!
Having beer after a long day and a-h-e-m~ to get myself ready for the ferriswheel.
Yupps, going to board the romantic yet fearful ferriswheell. Bb had no idea how afraid i was! I still need to take this photo while he kept bouncing up and down shaking the whole cabin. I couldn`t bring myself to look down or anywhere else and there was only one thing i can do; camwhore!
Finally the monkey stopped bouncing and decided that he should take a proper photo with me.
The whole idea of coming to TW is really about tasting many different selections of delicacies at the night markets! Feasting on ur favourite food n snacks till u can`t force anymore food down ur esophagus (aka gullet)! WHOOO! The famous 士林夜市
And our feasting-on session starts now!
The famous xxl crispy chicken with the never dying long queue.
Was he focusing on the chicken or me?
First time trying 麻辣鴨血 anbd it taste really good and spicy! Trust me, it`s not gross at all!
臭豆腐; u either love or dread it. I can still take the fried one and i love the pickled cabbage! Bb didn`t like the smell of it and made me ate so much that i did thot my breath might actually stink as well!
Couldn`t recall the name but its 花枝 something. Taste abit like sharks fin but with squid in it. Sharks fin taste leh, of cos nice!
Say O-AH-JIAN! This oyster omeolete was not too similar to one in sgp and i find the taste more enhanced than sgp`s. More oily as well :/
Continued our searching.
Was initially opposing the idea of having dessert before we ended our feast but bb insisted. I was like~ YES WE SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING SWEET, TASTY AND CRISPY! It just taste so delicious. Did some shoppings at shihlin night market and i still remember last nov, mika and i went penniless at shihlin market and we had to go back to our hotel. Can u imagine how much we splurged? So this time, i made sure i shopped thoroughly!
Saw the uber long queue and bought a stick of those bacon with spring onions which looked like asparagus. The bbq smell just made us drool but i still detest the bunch of sprouting spring onions!
水蒸包 which bb insisted that we should try as he said it looked savouring. I was bit too full to to even think about it. But still~ i managed to gobble it up! Whooo i eat like a man or maybe more than some men.
Completely worned out after a long long day. おやすみ ♥ DAY 3 Finally a load off our mind and we can shop like nobodys business and binge crazily since we don`t have to worry we won`t be able to fit into our gown/suit. Shopped at 五分埔, the clothes there are cheaper and if u buy more u can even get wholesale prices. Didn`t really grab many things there cos i still find the quality rather inferior compared to some exclusive shops at 西門丁.
つかれた! On our way to Taipei101~
As usual, tourist attraction places are flocked with many tourists esp PRCs. We wanted to go up to the obervatory on the 91th floor but the crowd was overwhelming and i seriously detest squeezing in the deck together with so many uncles. Another alternative to have a nice view is to dine at their observatory restaurants on the 86th floor. There is a minimum spending for each person estimated NTD1050. The prices for the food wasn`t that expensive, hence u need to order alot in order to meet the requirement! Can u imagine~
The breathtaking view.
Getting famished..
We ordered braised tofu with brocoli, fried rice, eefu noodles, sweet and sour fish (my fav!), chicken with dried chilli and pork rib. Didn`t have much expectation of the food, since restaurants with nice ambience seldom serve food with large servings and usually don`t taste as good too. I was very impressed with the culinery and every dish just taste fabulously good! I think this chinese restaurant definately deserved 2 thumbs up (:
Now u see
Alas, now u don`t! I definately will go back there again, to enjoy the scenery while having a large spread of delicious cuisine and sipping cold beer at the same time. Whooots!
We tried to finish up the food as fast as we could as the lights will be off at 9pm due to Earth hour. Saving the earth and having dinner with candle lights might be a good idea but if the air con will be off as well, it will be a pretty bad idea! 2nd round of binging.
At Raohe night market, just opposite of wufenpu. Watched many variety shows in TW, introducing many local delicacies and snacks from Raohe. So i guess we can hunt for more food here, thou we can hardly force anymore food down our gullet.
The stall which alot people are raving about on TW tv shows. It is definately cute but not something that taste unusually tasty. Damn normal~
Pepper pastries? Another stall which many celebrities recommended. The queue was freaking long and people buying many bags of them. We tried one and fell in love with the taste of charcoal and pepper, a wonderful yet simple taste.
Night markets rock our world! DAY 4 Bb`s supplier from TW, apparently is a nice and friendly uncle, brought us to 陽明山 as he insist we should really go since it`s their annually flower festival. On our way up the hill, he showed us where he lives, just on the top of the opposite of yang ming shan. He said he can view the whole of Taipei from his house and the view is greater than 101. Whoaaaa damn rich can.
Freezing cold!
<3 I will just let the pictures do the talking.
The scary beehive!
The gusty wind made us tremble like mad. And were u thinking where is the uncle? He was taking a nap in his car while waiting for us! How sweet.
I think i was just being too happy. Our favourite pose!
That`s what we like, eating ice cream on a chilling weather! Trust me, it`not as bad as having steamboat on a hot weather. Went back hotel for a short rest and off to shopping and dinner again!
And not forgetting to have the famous 阿宗面線! It`s best to slurp up the piping hot meesua in a cold weather despite the long queue!
And i think the girl with specs look abit like my sweetie Chalene without make up! But Cha looks prettier without saying ;p
いただきます! ちょ~美味しい! ^-^ The meesua really lives up to its name! I can eat at least 2 or 3 bowls of it!
Bought this 鹽酥蘑菇 along the street of ximending. Might sound exaggerating but this might be the only kind of fried mushroom which i love.
Was deciding which themed restaurant should we head to; Prison themed restaurant or Ninja themed restaurant as i`ve tried the modern toilet before. Searched online and found out that the prison themed is more popular in Taichung and the Taipei branch is much smaller. But i`ll love to try the next time when i visit Taiwan again! I`ll try out the new ninja themed restaurant this time round! (:
Ninja Japanese Cuisine 129 Civic Blvd. Section 4, Taipei (02) 2577-3300 Open from 6:00pm to 2:30am
http://www.ninja-tw.com
With the pretty and friendly waitress dressed in a ninja costume. The restaurant was very packed and we have to wait for 30mins! Probably it was because it`s a newly opened restaurant which was set up early this year. And the waitress told us that their boss is Taiwan celebrity, Makiyo. The interior of the restaurant was fantastic and innovative. U probably will have difficulty finding the door way up to the restaurants as it was hidden behind the waterfall. How cool is that?
We were rather astonished by the crowd up there. The whole restaurant was bubbly and lively with many ninjas in red walking around.
The bar.
The menu of great Japanese cuisines. Pls also note that there are a minimum amount of spending for each person as well. I did not have any great expectations of the food initially but everything turned out to be fabulous! I can really felt how meticulous the chef was. From the taste to how appealing every dishes were (:
We ordered soft shell crab with chips, beef with teriyaki sauce and my favourite ebi tempura and i strongly recommend these dishes! One particular ninja will be in charged of the table and will be suggesting u food/drinks and even perform magic for u!
A cute ninja burning a piece of paper and making it vanish without any ashes! すごい!
Cute ninja named mogu (mushroom).
And not forgetting sipping beer after dinner! Despite being full, we headed to 師大夜市 for a walk to digest!
Take away some ru wei and yan shu ji! Yet another day we have to sleep with our belly full with food! And for the last day in Taipei, bb`s supplier met us for the last time to bring us for lunch. Had gyoza and beef noodles in a small store makes us feel very homely!
And finally it`s time to leave~ とても悲しい! :( Even thou we miss our home in Singapore, we dread the feeling of leaving wonderful Taipei! Arriving at the airport, i chanced upon the Hello Kitty 'last 5 mins for shopping' souvenir shop at the airport terminal 2.
TADA! Bought some souvenirs back for family, friends and myself! (: Had many happy moments and experience this time round in Taipei which i couldn`t explain them in words. A picture can say a thousand words so i supposed my photos already spoke a few thousands of words. And if u were still thinking where to go for bridal photoshoot, i really suggest that Taiwan is great place in terms of its scenery and leaves an unforgettable memory behind. I`m so excited! Leaving for Europe in another 6 more hours! Luggage packed and i`m counting down now (: Be back soon and stay tuned! |
